A new window will show up with two labeled boxes plus a drop-down privacy settings selection. In the 1st box labeled Group Name is an icon. Click the icon and a drop-down menu will appear with a list of pictures. Choose the image you would like to display as your image. Then type a name into the box. Make sure that you use keyword phrases within the title when you make a group on Facebook so that the search engines can find your group.
Within the next box labeled Members, start to type the names of associates you want to make members. Facebook will provide a drop-down list of all of your friends with matching names. From this list it's easy to pick anybody you would like to make a member. Repeat til you have added all your members.
The last choice in the window is for Privacy Settings. You can select whether you would like your privacy to be Open, Closed, or Secret. Open privacy enables members and content to be seen by others. Closed privacy blocks other Facebook people from seeing the information on your groups page. Secret makes both members and content private. After making your selection, click on the Create button.
An additional window will pop up. Select O . k .. You'll then go to the main page on your group. On the top right are 2 choices: Edit Group and Edit Settings. Select Edit Group. You will be redirected to a Basic Information page. This page permits you to assign an email and description for your group.
Under your groups title and listing of its members is a line called Email Address. Choose the choice to Setup Group Email and type an email address in to the pop-up window. All members will receive a copy of the message sent to this current email address. After that click on the Create Email option. You'll be rerouted to the Basic Information page.
Beneath the Email Address lines are a box called Description. Type any information you want others to know about your group into this box. This description can be viewed by other Facebook members if your privacy setting is Closed or Open. Next, click the Back to Group button at the top right corner. You'll return to the main page of your group. Choose the Edit Settings button on the top right of the page.
A window will appear. You can choose when you need to be notified of changes. In the drop-down menu following the title Notify me. When, you are able to select if you want to be notified to any comments or posts. Alerts will be sent to the email address connected with your Facebook account. If you wish to change the email address, you are able to click on the blue link titled Edit Your Notifications Settings.
The next option in the window allows you to choose if the group will show up in home navigation or not, and how often. Lastly, determine if you want to select the box called Send me Group Chat Messages. If you don't choose it you won't be delivered messages. Then click on the Save Settings box in the bottom of the pop-up window.
